that some protection is just implemented temporary due
to a variety of threats. Please note that Gonuts4free
has more protection and security on its servers that is
not listed here. This page is updated frequently.
1.
Internal Anti virus.
The
following attachments are not allowed in order to prevent
mailbox infections. Responsible viruses for this latest
implementation are Blaster, Novarg and NetSky (all versions).

*.exe
- *.zip
- *.scr
- *.htm
- *.com
- *.pif
- *.cmd
- *.bat
- *.ink
Alternative
solutions for *.zip files is to use another compression
program such as rarlab found at http://www.rarlab.com
.This program will create your compression using a *.rar
extension.
For *.htm,
use *.html as extension.
2.
Instant Anti Spam Engine & Bayesian Filters.
We do not allow
the following type of spam.
-
Emails that contain the words "viagra" or "porn".
- Emails with forbidden charsets such as "gb2312"
or "big5"
- Emails with missing charsets and characters higher then
0x7F
- ISP's that are listed in the RBL (Realtime Blackhole
list) of relays.ordb.org
3.
Content Filter.
We
do not accept the following mails to be sent or received.

Emails that do not contain either a "From" address
or "Subject".
- Emails that contain "<none>" or "<None>"
in the Subject field.
4.
Tarpitting
Tarpitting
is used against spammers and users who try to make abuse
of our network.
-
IP addresses that establish more then 25 connections/sessions
in 1 minute will be blocked for 30 minutes. The following
message may appear if tarpitting is active on your account.
POP/SMTP
not allowed, tarpitting active for IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
(your ip address)
If
this happened unintentionally, then please do not panic,
the server will reset your account automatically within
30 minutes.
Tarpitting
can also occur with users that connect to our email servers
using broadband, unless they have upgraded their email
address to a business account.
